Sarah Palin's Corrupt Mis-Management of Dairy in Alaska

Palin fired the whole state Agriculture and Conservation board in July 2007, and replaced it with her loyalists. As a result, the dairy lost more money than it had in twenty years. The dairy, an Alaska icon, closed two months later. Millions of dollars in dairy equipment ended up, at a steep discount, in the hands of a local Palin ally.

Amanda Beard you are awesome!

Not just for her swimmer talent and beautiful looks but because of her unselfish commitment to animals around the world. Amanda has chosen to showcase her swimmer talent at the 2008 Olympics but just as important to her is the fact that China and many other countries continue to allow barbaric animal skinning for fur. Amanda makes clear that while participating in the Olympics is important t show her talent, the is no place for fur in world society today. For more on her campaign to end the murder of animals for their fur visit Amanda's PETA page.

Welcome back Monica Goodling

The Wall Street Journal is reporting today that Monica Goodling is one of two top aides to former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales who violated federal law. Goodlings hire powered attorney John Dowd (still don't know how she can afford such a costly attorney)could not be reached for comment. But the new report from the Justice Dept states that Ms. Goodling herself weeded out Democrats and even a lesbian when hiring prosecutors and judges. Unfortunately, if I recall correctly from my previous posts, Ms. Goodling was granted immunity by Congress for her testimony. But it appears that some charges may still be brought and at the very least she may lose her law license. Although the report seems to vindicate the former attorney general, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy did seem to indicate that the report concluded this was a widely used or accepted practice in this administration and "not just the actions of a few 'bad apples.'"

PLEASE BUY ORGANIC PRODUCTS!! Milk, ice cream, yogart, sour cream, cheese, eggs and butter.

From Horizan Organic milk company:

Organic refers to the way agricultural foods and fibers are produced and processed. It is a commitment to agricultural practices that strive for a balance with nature, using methods and materials that are of low impact to the environment. And the primary goal is to optimize the health and productivity of interdependent communities of soil life, plants, animals and people.

When you choose Horizon Organic® products, you contribute to the health and well-being of the planet because organic farming methods respect the earth and nurture animals. For land to remain certified organic, our farmers never use harmful chemicals that can pollute our air, water and food. Instead, they use sustainable farming techniques like crop rotation and composting to improve soil fertility, and non-toxic materials like vegetable oil to control pests. Through these measures, we kept more than 17 million pounds of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer out of the environment in 2007 alone!

Organic farmers are also committed to the humane treatment of animals. Horizon Organic farmer partners approach herd health holistically. Our cows make milk according to their natural behaviors. And we keep them in good health by giving them certified organic feed, fresh air, and access to pasture.

All Horizon Organic products are produced without the use of antibiotics, added growth hormones, or dangerous pesticides. In addition, organic processing practices maintain the integrity of food without using preservatives or irradiation.
