CIA report

As a big supporter of the CIA and it's work, I am frustrated by these reports that come out saying the CIA did not do enough to stop the terrorists. The CIA is at the mercy of our leaders and our laws. Prior to 9/11 it was a different atmosphere. The Republicans were out to get President Clinton. No one and I mean no one to my knowledge cared about Bin Laden or the Taliban or the disgusting things going on in Afghanistan. It was not important to us. I am no big fan of George Tenet. His interview on 60 minutes kind of freaked me out. He seemed unusually nervous and perhaps he has an illness, I don't know. But the reality is that no one should blame the CIA for 9/11. We did not have the capabilities nor did the CIA or anyone else have the authority to do what was and still is necessary to solve these problems. And the bureaucracy will never go away. To solve this problem the current administration adds more bureaucracy! The CIA was meant to be the central point of intelligence information, thus the name. But when you have competing agencies all throughout the government and military, its makes it extremely difficult to consolidate all the information and figure out what it all means. We cannot have it both ways. There is only one way for this to work. Just like in Iraq, there is only one way for those people and that is a strong leader who will come down hard on the people. Unfortunately we may not like that choice for their "democracy" and some of the people there will get hurt. In the old Soviet Union they had the KGB, people feared it, but it worked. China has their secret police, again we know little about it, but we do know that the Chinese people in the United States that have family in China are at the mercy of the secret police. In other words, if the Chinese here in America don't cooperate with the Chinese government, the families in China are going to suffer. That's what makes the China's government so dangerous. The control they have over their people. Not to mention the fact that they make 80 or 90% of all the products we use. They cannot afford to stop selling to us but can you imagine what would happen if they did? Those .99cent stores would turn into $99 stores! The point is we just need to move forward. We must make the changes necessary to prevent attacks in the future without tearing each other apart. Most Americans don't worry about our govt spying on us because we don't commit crimes, but that power can easily be abused, as we have seen in the past. I suppose that's why we issue these reports, but before we go condemn the CIA let's just make sure that the people are supplied with what they need to stop future attacks. It takes solid people willing to risk their lives to get this information and to try and analyze what they are able to get. Its a lot easier to look at what has been discovered and say oh ya that was obvious, how could you not see that. When in reality there is information out there now that we still can't understand or get access to, but the good people at the CIA are still trying to figure it out. Just keep an eye on the big picture and not a few pieces of the puzzle. The CIA has and continues to do a lot to help our country and protect us.
