Danger to DNA but no recall

According to the Associated Press, the FDA has issued a warning to Iams pet food company regarding some of its diet foods that contain an unapproved substance. Iams, maker of Eukanuba pet foods, is a subsidiary of Procter and Gamble. The warning letter urged Iams to remove chromium tripicolinate from its pet food products, but has not asked for a recall of these foods at this time. The FDA considers this chemical to be genotoxic, meaning it can cause damage to DNA and cause mutations and tumors.
