Who is paying for Monica Goodling's lawyers?

Monica Goodling, the senior counsel to Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales, apparently makes pretty good money at her job. She is represented by the large and powerful law firm of Akin Gump. How much does the Justice Dept pay these senior counselors? A recent article by Ron Hutcheson at McClatchy Newspapers asked the question "Who is Monica Goodling?" According to the article, "Goodling, 33, is a 1995 graduate Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. She received her law degree at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va." so she's 33 and can afford to hire Akin Gump? Below are two links. First a letter from her lawyer at Akin Gump to the committee chairs and second the article from Mr. Hutcheson. Both are very interesting reads. You must understand that Akin Gump is a wealthy, powerful law firm with offices worldwide.
